Chicken pox

According to sciencenet.org, chicken pox is called "chicken pox" because "of the mildness of the disease, compared with small-pox, or that it has some distant connection or possibly even origin with the chicken. Another explanation is that this name is an allusion to chick peas, via the Latin word "Cicer" meaning chick pea, due to the vague resemblance of the eruptions to chick peas."

Robert Steele, M.D. says that chicken pox has nothing to do with chickens; but has to do with the fact that the red bumps look like chick peas. "When chicken pox was first described, it was noted that the pox lesions looked more like they were placed upon the skin rather than being a part of the skin themselves. In fact, people long ago felt they looked like chick peas placed upon the skin. The Latin word for chick peas is cicer which is the original word that chicken pox got its name. "

The Chickens at KFC prefer classical music

On May 1, KFC announced new standards to ensure humane treatment of its chickens; and has agreed to provide "mental stimulation" to its chickens.

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)  claims that "Chickens enjoy watching television and listening to music, especially classical."

Things you ought to know about Peeps

The Peep came into this world in 1953. They are one billion Peeps are hatched each year.

You can lead a Peep to water, but you can't make it drink. Peeps are not kosher.

People who do weird things to Peeps are called Peepophiles. Yellow is the favorite Peep color, followed by pink.

Blue Peeps are as effective as Viagra. About 75 percent of people bite off the Peeps' head.

Peeps feel pain. The first Peep was created by squeezing marshmallow through a pastry tube.

A rolling Peep gathers no moss. It takes six minutes to make a Peep.

Peeps that peep into people's windows are called Peeping Peeps.

Don't try this at home with your Peeps

It's Easter. People in America eat Peeps for Easter. A "Peep" is a marshmallow type of candy that is in the shape of a chick.

I discovered that people in American do more than just eating them. See this very disturbing example:

Al Gore knows how to hypnotize chickens

Al Gore's suggestion is to hold a chicken's head on the ground and take a finger or a stick and draw circles around the chicken's head. This circular movement should put the chicken under hypnose; and most importantly, give Al Gore entire control over the chicken's actions and thoughts.

It’s a normal chicken, except for the fact that it’s not really a chicken.
And it’s the kind that needs to be covered in sunscreen.

Scientists have bred a featherless chicken, which they say is faster growing and requires no plucking.

Those type of chickens are fed intensively to achieve fast growth, which means they produce body heat; therefore would suffer tremendously in hotter countries - not to mention that they would likely suffer sunburn.
